Over half of the country’s population believes that house prices will not drop next year, this is despite warnings from banks and governments around the world that the global economy will slip back in to recession.
20% of people predict prices will rise by the end of 2012 and around 40% expect there to be no change to current values despite property prices hovering around the same level as those at the start of 2006, before the property bubble burst.
Many people believe in the value of bricks and mortar despite the deteriorating economic situation.
Leading property experts expect any fluctuations in prices to be regional, with London fairing the best whilst Wales comes off worst.
